Colorcon 2023

In August of 2023 Mello was commissioned as one of five renowned artists to participate in one of the Golden Triangles mural festivals. This piece can be viewed in the Westword parking lot on Lincoln St.

The theme for 2023 Colorcon was “Celebrating Local Icons Past & Present." Mello was assigned to illustrate the beautiful personalities of iconic painter, Jess DuBois and activist/dancer Cleo Parker Robinson.

Public art is so much more than a vibrant mural, it is an opportunity to build community and create art that sparks conversation. Mello got the honor to do just that by meeting Jess DuBois' family and Cleo Parker Robinson herself during the mural festival.
